PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Sept/2001-to date:
-Internet Sub Editor for www.nationaudio.com, the
news site for Eastern and Central Africa's largest news media
house, Nation Media Group. Responsible for the content carried
daily on the site.
1996-Aug/2001:
-Current Affairs correspondent for Kenya's largest
newspaper, the Daily Nation based in Kisumu. Covered daily
news occurrences and issues in Western Kenya. Ranging from politics,
environmental and health issues around the Lake Victoria ecosystem
and business.
-International reporting experience covered the 13th
World AIDS Conference held in Durban, South Africa for the Daily
Nation.
-Occasional contributor to various periodicals and
newsmagazines. Written news analysis and political commentary
on various subjects in current affairs.
1995:
-Chief Editor for the Nyegezi Weekly News, training
weekly newspaper for the Nyegezi Social Training Institute, read
in the Institute neighborhood.
EDUCATION
Visiting Scholar at the New York University - Department
of Journalism and Mass Communication under the Freedom Forum International
Journalists-in-Residence (JIR) Program for 2001.
Journalism studies/training (Graduated 1996) from St. Augustine's
University of Tanzania (formerly Nyegezi Social Training Institute).
Course Auditing at NYU: On-line Reporting, International
Reporting, Press Ethics and The Media in America.
Computer Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office applications,
Internet Explorer, Pagemaker, Netscape and Macromedia Dreamweaver,
Microsoft Frontpage.

the fight against HIV/AIDS in Kenya. Conducted as a guide to identify
areas for training.
